About us

Fareeda, a true Groningen local, brings many years of experience in the hospitality industry. Until recently, her dishes could be enjoyed at Restaurant Achterwerk, where she created fully plant-based menus with great creativity.

Sieta, originally from Friesland, has been living in this beautiful city for 20 years. Prior to this, she happily ran Pernikkel.

In our small restaurant, the two of us take care of both the kitchen and the service.

Cosily located on the corner of J.C. Kapteynlaan and Johannes Mulderstraat, just outside Groningen’s city centre, you’ll find Restaurant Sepia.

At Sepia, lunch is something to savour. Using beautiful and surprising ingredients, we serve a seasonally changing four-course surprise menu. Each week, one dish is replaced, meaning the entire menu is renewed after five weeks.

Our menu is built as much as possible around local, seasonal produce, and we enjoy cooking “from nose to tail”. As a result, you may occasionally encounter less conventional ingredients on your plate.

If you prefer a vegetarian or fully plant-based menu, please let us know when making your reservation — we are happy to offer a special menu tailored to your wishes.
